  Greeting all! I don't have any reviews to focus on today. I do have a little bit of news though. I've decided to get back into reading tarot cards. I don't foresee (haha) myself doing it professionally, but I'm working on getting a business going, selling spiritual supplies, & I was thinking that I could do Tarot readings with purchase. It has been quite a few years ('07) since I had a deck, but it wasn't a classic Raider Waite deck. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm just not into all these fancy variations of the Tarot these days. I prefer the classic imaging the best, thanks! Finally!!!

 I was in WalMart grocery shopping; so of course I had to pop over to the cosmetics aisle & see if there were any new must have items. Of course, what do I see??? Maybeline's dupe for the UD Naked eyeshadow pallette: The Nudes pallette.
  At my local WalMart it's retailing for $9.98. It caught my eye due to the sleek packaging & the fact that I've been looking for a reasonably priced UD Naked pallette dupe for quite some time now. I know Nyx has a few options, but honestly I wasn't tempted to spend any money with them because the quality of their eyeshadows can be iffy. Actually, I feel that way about a lot of Nyx products. I think Nyx spends more money on packaging then content. Back to Maybelline; I love Maybelline's eyeshadows, I wear them way more then my high end stuff. On a daily basis I usually reach for my Expert Wear Designer Chocolates quad as it's a universally flattering, neutral pallette of purple leaning browns. Granted they're not as pigmented as UD. Unless you use a primer, but when you do use a primer with them, you can get up to 24 hours of wear out of them. I swatched each one of the eyeshadows & the lighter matte shades seemed a bit chalky & not very pigmented, but I have that problem with Nyx's pale matte shades as well.

 I'm not going to list the colors, because I'm not this kind of blog. I will just say that I think The Nudes pallette is going to knock Designer Chocolates out of my eyeshadow top spot. ~Blessings, Beccah~

Getting The Most Out of My "Condition" Oils.

   It is definitely long past time for me to post again! Summers are always busy though, even if it doesn't look or feel that way on the surface. One doesn't realize how much of a break those 8 hours in the school day afford one, until summer comes along. :) I STILL need to finish up testing the all Love Potion collection, & now we're into the July collection & eagerly waiting on August's Sugared Layerables collection, but more on that in another post.
 

 Since I'm poor ( for the moment) I decided to split some bottles with a couple different friends & we cast our lot together in some orders for Conjured Cardea's recent free shipping sale. I'm eagerly awaiting the oils to blog some more about her, because the longer I have them in my collection, the more I get out of them. CC's oils are on my mind because the bottle of  9 Indian Fruit that I wear pretty much daily has developed a habit of loosening it's top. It's a little odd because I tighten it up, even if I'm just walking past it on the shelf, but never the less every time I reach for that bottle the lid will be loose again, hmm. Anyway, I've developed my own tricks fro getting more use out of my oils, whether they be Conjured Cardea's or Lucky Mojo's.
 Let's talk about the terms "dressing" & "anointing." I'm sure if any of my readers are Catholic or Greek Orthodox you'll be familiar with anointing oils. Applying oils to yourself or anyone else with the intent of prayer & blessing is what this term boils down to. Hoodoo condition oils are mostly skin safe (I wouldn't anoint myself with Fiery Wall of Protection, it's spicy) & they're versatile for anointing or dressing. "Dressing" something is to apply a powder or an oil to an inanimate object like a candle or a letter, much in the same way that we anoint people. The nice thing about Hoodoo is that it's budget friendly, but I keep seeing recommendations to purchase sachet powders, made to people who might not have the time nor the budget to go back & order the sachet powders that match their oils. Listen, sachet powders & oils ARE interchangeable & you can use your oil to dress papers: I will tell you how.
  It's really quite simple to use your oils to dress papers without staining the papers. All you have to do is first apply a very small amount of oil to yourself on your wrists/forearms/backs of hands, kind of like you would do with perfume, & rub it in REALLY good. When the oil is good & absorbed into your skin, THEN rub your anointed parts on the papers with your intentions/prayers or what have you. Now, I wouldn't jump into this technique with a job application (unless you've picked up a spare) or important paperwork, maybe get the hang of it with a note to a friend or a love interest first. Another thing I will do is add a drop or two of my condition oil of choice (let's say Look Me Over) to maybe a 5 ml sprayer of perfume that I have in my purse. (I don't wear much commercial scent these days, so my perfume atomizer lids screw off fairly easily.) This way you get a nice refresh of intent without having to take your bottles in your purse, & risk losing or breaking your bottles with the labels on them. Another thing is, I am NOT one to try dropping my oils out of the bottles, that is a good way to accidentally get a lot more than what you need, or to spill it altogether. I use a small glass bottle with a dropper (think like for a skin serum sample), keep it filled with 90% rubbing alcohol & I use that to dispense my oils for whatever purpose I have in mind. It's simple & you don't risk getting little bits of the oils mixed in with your other bottles of oil while you're busy working. This will be all for now, but I do wish that I could at least make drafts in Blogger offline. I think I would get way more writing done. Oh well, I guess that's what Office Word is for!

11 Days of Perfume

Day 3:

Love Potion Rouge is a sweeter, sheerer version of the famous Love Potion Red. LP Red is more of incense-type, patchouli forward scent on my skin. LP Rouge goes to a lovely, sweet, foodie-cinnamon fragrance for me. The best way I can describe it is "sexy Red Hots."








Day 4:

I'll be honest, I'm not usually much of a fan of green tea notes. The magic happens when it's added with honey to my favorite perfume, of course. I smell it, but the Love Potion base shines through & the fragrance turns into a sexy type of zen for me. I find that I keep going back for another sniff, this variant is calming, & really addictive!

Let The Good Times Roll!

  I don't have much going on right now in the social arena. I really had no idea divorce would put such a damper on my social life, lol! I do look forward to spending time with my kids & testing out my Love Potion Magickal Perfumerie monthly samplers, though. This month of all Love Potion variants is particularly exciting because I've been collecting the variants since '09. I've decided to test each one everyday, so this should occupy me for about a week & a half.
Day One:

With notes of leather, tobacco, cedar, & maple, LP Blue is an androgynous foodie type of scent. Something about the leather & cedar combination kept making me thing there was frankincense in there somewhere, but after it calmed down the fragrance vaguely reminded of Unforgivable for men. Probably the blue sugar note in it.







Day Two:

I'm on my second scent from the collection today & it doesn't disappoint. This is the fragrance embodiment of a delicious caramel latte. This is also nice for me because I can't really drink coffee, but I do enjoy the scent.

All Love Potion Month at Love Potion Magickal Perfumerie!

  Where do I begin????? I can't really keep my excitement in check anymore about this, honestly! So, it should be apparent by now who my favorite house of fragrance is. (Hint; Lovepotionperfume.com.) My very favorite perfume line out of Love Potion Magickal Perfumerie is the Love Potion line, & my hands down favorite is
Mara Fox's flagship scent Love Potion perfume. It is the perfect vanilla scent to me, sort of innocent at first with the vanilla being most prominent, but harboring some serious sex appeal with the apricot, patchouli, & amber base. Every variant in the line has that sexy base, fine tuned to accommodate the various permanents & limited editions in the line.

  On to my announcement....The house of Love Potion Magical Perfumerie is doing an all Love Potion release set for June! I don't have any info on the notes for the LEs, yet, but I do have a sneak peak on some GORGEOUS artwork. Here it is :

The lovely Mara Fox did drop a hint on her company's message boards that the artwork was indicative of the character of the scents, so I have a couple guesses (even though I'm usually terrible at guessing, lol.)

LP:Ceremony will be an elegant variant with notes of green tea & honey, balanced to perfection. LP:Bittersweet will have notes of dark chocolate giving Love Potion a super foody, yet slightly exotic spin, & LP: Terra Mater will have notes of pumpkin & squash balanced out to make us extra irresistible to the objects of our affections.
